Just a quick update, as you know Ted has been keeping us informed of Hammerhermit’s illness.
With Ted’s information and Sydney Iron’s contact addresses down under, we were able to contact Gav
and ask him if he could release some funds to purchase a gift hamper to cheer Hammerhermit up, with the
message “From all at West Ham Online, get well soon ps Sam's a fat c**t”
I’m glad to see hamper was received last week and Hammerhermit was over the moon.
His daughter Jess sent the following message:-
Hey Ted , i'm Michaels daughter i just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who contributed in sending Michael the basket case - it was a beautiful thoughtful gesture and it really made my day coming home and seeing him with a big smile, eating all the lovely treats.. thank you all so much for making Hammer Hermits day.

I whole-heartedly apologise if my comment offended anyone. As others have pointed out it was purely gallows humour like a comment you'd make to a mate in hopsital.
WHO is famous for it and I was quite comfortable it would've been taken in the context in which it was offered (as a joke) but obviously I was wrong.
Once again I apologise. I had no intention on turning a nice thread into a slanging match.
